Funded under the NDIS, Counselling Services of ABC CARE is intended for the NDIS and aged participants to overcome their barriers of social inclusion and interactive difficulties. Our certified counsellors support them to build capacity and focus through Counselling services which are recovery-oriented practices so they can overcome day-to-day challenges. We are ready to provide support at the time of recovery planning and coaching. So, when your disabled or aging family member or friend should be motivated and counselled to increase their skills, and capacity, feel good and confident, and be resilient; remember the counsellors of ABC CARE.

How Do the Counselling Services of ABC CARE Help the NDIS Participants and Aged Members?

Our counsellors will closely work with the NDIS participants and aged members and identify their individual therapeutic goals and needs. Next, they shall adapt the findings to the NDIS requirements. We would even provide NDIS therapeutic support service, daily living development and boosting life skills and behavioural support.

How Impactful is Counselling From ABC CARE?

Counselling services act as additional support in developing personal capacity. Our flexible counsellors are capable of adapting to the client's needs, and they help their clients build up capacity by:

  • Guiding through life transition goals
  • Refining social skills for learning about different perspectives
  • Supporting time management and goal-setting skills
  • Supporting the job-seeking journey of NDIS participants
  • Assisting with planning, time management and memory issues

However, this is not the end, for our counsellors offer additional support and help in developing a manageable system for providing extra guidance where the NDIS participants and aged members could feel overwhelmed or they might have problems

What happens at the time of the counselling session?

In the counselling session, the counsellor discusses about the thoughts, experiences and feelings of the NDIS participants and aged members. Likewise, they provide support, guidance and tools for helping in mental health management.

How often do the NDIS participants and aged members need counselling sessions?

Individual needs and goals determine the frequency of counselling sessions. This will be determined at the time of consultation with a counsellor and NDIS planner.

How counselling is funded under the NDIS?

The NDIS plan funds the counselling services. The allocated amount for counselling is determined by individual needs and goals.

Is counselling confidential?

Generally, counselling is confidential. However, there might be exceptions, like when there are probable risks to the NDIS participants and aged members or others.

Can family or friends be a part of the counselling sessions with the NDIS participants and aged members?

The specific circumstances and agreement between the counsellor and the NDIS participants and aged members state whether the family or friends are allowed to attend counselling sessions.
