NDIS ACCESS SUPPORT

At ABC Care, we are committed to empowering individuals with disabilities by providing the guidance and support needed to access the NDIS. Navigating the NDIS can seem complex, but with the right support, it’s your gateway to tailored services and opportunities that enhance your independence and quality of life.

What Is A NDIS Plan?

According to the outlined principles, an NDIS plan is about supporting a person's goals as well as disability-related services. The main purpose is to help them achieve their goals. It describes the funded support they would be receiving from the NDIS.

At ABC Care, we can help you with preparing the NDIS. We would even help you with preparing for your planning meeting, so it's in your favour to make the maximum of your NDIS plan.

What Is the Tenure of Your NDIS Plan?

Each plan within NDIS has been developed for cover support for 12 months. However, if significant changes should be made to the plan, based on your situation, any change in health conditions, or more time is needed for exploring other support options - then either the new plan's timing brought forward or be extended.

Who is NDIS Supporting?

NDIS applies only to those who have a permanent disability for which:

  • Their ability to perform tasks and actions reduces. Without support, they have no abilities in effective participation in activities.
  • They are incapable and cannot participate in social and economic participation.
  • They would more likely need lifelong support under the NDIS.

Above all, the citizens should

  • Be Australian
  • Hold either a permanent visa or a Protected Special Category Visa
  • Be below 65 years of age.

Which areas are not covered under NDIS Support?

The NDIS will not be covering support when the matter :

  • Is not at all related to the person’s disability

  • Is a duplicate of another support within the personal support plan of the participants
  • Is a normal daily living expense, such as rent or groceries

  • Is better addressed through an alternative support system (for instance, a healthcare system)

  • Is likely to harm the participant or pose risks to others

  • Is related to income replacement

  • Is for gym or club membership and personal training. However, it could approve the exercise physiologists.

  • Is for medications

What Will be the Management Procedure for my NDIS Funds?

Funds management in the NDIS plan indicates how the service providers and supports will be paid - at the planning meeting, you will be questioned on how should you manage your funds. You have options to choose from:

  • Self-managing
  • A financial intermediary
  • The NDIS, that is also known as Agency Managed
  • Combined these mentioned options
